Our brothers and sisters who own and work for Virginia’s small businesses are suffocating with high health insurance costs. A recent article in the Times-Dispatch highlited health care views of folks in Ashland. Below is a quote from a Small Business owner:

Like many of you, I watched President Obama’s health care speech on September 9 with growing respect for our chief executive. And then, nearing the end of the speech, he said something that, for me, perfectly characterizes the work of the Interfaith Center.
New census numbers show that Virginians need health insurance reform. According to The Commonwealth Institute the:
“percentage of Virginians with employer-provided coverage was 64.4 percent, down from 68.3 percent in 2000 and 2001.”
The air is heavy with fear in the health insurance reform debate. The Bible tells us how to react to fear:
“And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house.” (Ezekiel 2:6)
